upscaling of simulation of two phase flow in porous media

i want to simulate two phase flow in porous media using LBM and do upscaling on it. is this possible?
what is the challenge in doing such work

Dear Sajad,

It’s possible. The challenges are the proper implementation of boundary conditions in porous media and the multiphase flows themselves, as the density ratio, wetting implementation. I recommend you to look at the works of Jonas Toelke, Manfred Krafczyk and Benjamin Ahrenholz.
