Solidification model with LBM

Dear All,

I am interested in modeling the binary alloy solidification process with lattice boltzmann method. The model will predict the dendrite growth, second dendrite arm spacing, and so on. Anyone has been working on similar research topic? I understand that the level set method and phase field method are more popular to solve dendrite growth problem. There is very limited references to use LBM to model dendrite growth. I am wondering if it is not feasible to use LBM to model this problem? Anyone has been working the related topic? Would you like to share with me some thoughts about this topic?
