Hi all,

I am trying to simulate flow around a vertically forced oscillating cylinder. The O-grid type which I have applied to a fixed cylinder is also wanted to simulate. The boundary condition on cylinder surface is u=0, v(t) = Asin(2pif*t). Now I am thinking of that it is necessary to use a moving mesh and add an external force into LBE. Please give me a suggestion to understand this problem completely.

Hello,

if you want to use a moving mesh and an external force, you should try the “immersed boundary method” or related methods. Just use Google Scholar for something like “immersed boundary method cylinder”, and you will get tons of references.
