about the high Reynolds number

Hi everyone,
How are you? I have a question about simulating turbulent flow, that is ,when we simulate the laminar flow, the rules of convergence is the relative velocity error, but for the turbulent flow , what is the rules of convergence?
Thank you so much.
best regards,
Bruce

Hello,

the question of convergence of turbulent flows is not an easy one. By definition such flows are unsteady. You should refer to books like “Turbulent flows” By Stephen Pope. Usually one says a turbulent flow “converged” when some value is constant when averaged over a long period of time.

I hope it helps a bit.
