Turbulence flow across rod bundles


Now I’m studying to model flow across a fuel rod bundle. The flow is turbulent and the periodic boundaries can be used. I use external force as driving mechanism of the flow and use Smagorinsky LES model to siulate the flow. Unfortunately, Smagorinsky model in palabos is static and I suppose the results I take from the simulations are somewhat different especially near the wall region. Is there a way to implement varying smagorinsky constant to Palabos ?


How exactly do you set up the geometry. Through an external stl file? if so, how do you create the file-as just the rods, or the flow box ‘minus’ the rods?

This is a 2D geometry and does not need a create stl file. Rods surfaces are defined as bounceback nodes. And the cross flow around the circular rods.
