Hi All,
I’m new to LB method (and to CFD at all) and have a question: is it possible to model supersonic flows with it?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!
No, you cannot model supersonic problems using standard LBM, since you apply a small-velocity truncation. But I do not know, if there are extended LBM versions which allow this.

Dear monoceros,
I haven’t seen any simulations for supersonic by myself - but probably this paper is close to what you want:

Hopefully it will help,
