I am a beginner and have run a few example cases of Palabos in a parallel cluster. I want to know if LBM is truly ‘mesh-less’ or ‘mesh-free’. For example, if I provide the geometry of a cylinder through an xml file (like one of your other examples) and read it in through the stl-reader functionality, will I be able to simulate flow around it. In other words, the mesh that is present in the examples directly is in many ways like the conventional mesh, a solid block with a cylindrical hole:-my question is if the input may be ONLY the cylider points. (Maybe something like free surface flows and the example on dam breaking?)
