If I’d like to simulate the multiphase ascending bubbles flow in the pipe. What are the dimensionless parameters I should use? Which model is better to use? Could you please suggest any references to start with?

It is true that only very few texts include a clear discussion of macroscopic variables and units involved in multi-phase flows. Personally, I find the explanations on the Shan/Chen model in the book by Sukop and Thorne quite enlightening.
